We LOVE Our Volunteers!

We know that we could not do what we do without the help of our community. We aren’t just talking about monetary donations, we’re talking about VOLUNTEERS! Volunteers at Stepping Stone do a variety of tasks and help take the burden off our staff, while enriching the lives of our residents. The last couple years have been tough. COVID restricted our ability to let volunteers into the shelter, and moving our residents to a hotel to stop the spread created more volunteer restrictions. But through all this, our volunteers still shined! They’ve helped keep our clothing closet inventoried and in order, created amazing auction baskets and items for our major events, picked up food from schools and other places so our residents would have meals, worked in our kitchen and helped Cafeteria Manager Tammy, sat at our front desk when we needed someone to fill in, made the holidays a special time for residents (even at the hotel!) by donating and collecting gifts and meals, and so much more!

Speaking of Volunteers…

Tom and crew from St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lino Lakes are always at the shelter once a month, just like clockwork, to bring and serve a fresh and delicious Thanksgiving-style meal. And do our residents appreciate it! Thank you, St. Joe’s!!

Whether you’re bringing and/or serving a meal in the kitchen, sitting at the front desk, or in a behind-the-scenes role, know that your time and energy in helping us is well spent and so very appreciated!
