Job Title: Lead Shelter Advocate

Status:  TBD

Starting Range: $19.00/hour + $1.50 shift differential

Purpose: It is the responsibility of the Lead Shelter Advocate to co-manage, develop, and support all of Stepping Stone Emergency Housing’s Shelter Advocates; analyze resident and staff needs to make recommendations to the Program Management Team concerning these stated needs; provide coaching and training of advocate staff; and perform general advocate duties, assign work, and evaluate performance of advocate staff.

There will be a $500 signing bonus offered for the Lead Shelter Advocate position after being successfully hired and employed at Stepping Stone Emergency Housing for 90 or more days.

Lead Shelter Advocate Position Description

Job Title: Casual Shelter Advocate

Status:  Full time, nonexempt

Starting Compensation: $18.00-$19.00 per hour DOQ

Description: This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for occasional work and wants to do purposeful work in the community for people in need of support! We are looking for skilled individuals who are available to work at least two weekend days or evenings per month.

What kind of work will you perform? Assist residents, who are experiencing homelessness, with various tasks. Folks who work overnights may have a little bit different schedule of performing tasks. More commonly, overnight shifts help folks gain access into the building from the front entrance door, monitor the men’s and women’s wings, complete data entry, and perform miscellaneous chore tasks (as needed).
