Washington County Attorney’s Office
Keshini Ratnayake serves as a board member for Stepping Stone Emergency Housing and brings more than 20 years of legal and public service experience to the organization.
Born in St. Paul and raised in Woodbury, Keshini graduated from Woodbury High School before earning degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth and the University of St. Thomas School of Law. She currently serves as an Assistant County Attorney in the Criminal Division for the Washington County Attorney’s Office.
Throughout her career, Keshini has worked as a public defender, with the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility, and as a prosecutor in Washington County. She has also remained active in community service, including serving as Co-Chair of the Parkview Center School PTSA from 2020 through 2024.
Keshini became interested in Stepping Stone Emergency Housing after seeing the Emergency Housing Services Building (EHSB) being developed in Washington County. After learning more about the organization’s mission, she began organizing clothing and hygiene drives within her office and became inspired to support Stepping Stone’s work through community connections and advocacy.
Outside of work and volunteer service, Keshini enjoys traveling with her family, going for walks, cooking, and baking.
